I can't figure out who did it?! I know Xela and Charlotte take candy canes off the tree and break them...only because they know broken ones get eaten quicker, so it might be one of them. But then, Anne has spent 10 minutes habitually dropping one, knowing that sooner or later, peppermint would tickle her taste buds.
Anyways, due to the number of pieces stashed in their room, I think it might be Charlotte. Xela would clean up her pillage. But then, how can one explain an unbroken candy cane in another room next to Anne's crib and another one thrown inside. A stash saved for later by a persistent baby?
Whodunit? Who knows, but if anyone comes to visit, there won't be any candy canes on the tree. Just 3 little happy, hyper girls with eyes a gleam of satisfied Candy Came bellies :)

Auntie Mallori was asked to make Anne's baby blanket (Mandi made Xela's, Mara made Charlotte's). This is a beautiful quilt! A "princess kingdom" theme and beautifully hand stitched "Lady Anne Elsie Jane." We love it! Thank you Mal!!!
My body temperature runs cold. Here I am trying to stay warm on the couch. The girls think it's fun to climb on mom and play :)
We stopped by to see some good friends in Ames. I was a visiting teacher to Sis. Forgey when Xela was still in my belly. Marilyn wanted to make the girls one of her signature cross stitched Christmas stockings. Here is Xela on her lap with the stocking. I wish you could see it up close. Xela loves it!
We went to Lincoln, Nebraska to spend Thanksgiving with Joe's sister Sarah and her family. It was fun and relaxing. It was fun to watch Joe play BopIt with the Hessings over and over! haha! Sarah treated us to healthy food and a great Thanksgiving memory!
Charlotte with her cousins :) Xela says she likes Aiden (no pictured) because he gave her piggy back rides. And they still talk about visiting their cousins.
Baby Anne with Grandpa Evans. We visited them for a few days after Thanksgiving.
Climbing the outside of the stairs. The "thing" to do at Grandma and Grandpa's house.
Daddy and Anne. Best Friends!
We like glow sticks :)
Things have been well around here. I cut Xela and Charlotte's hair on Friday! The first for Charlotte and the second for Xela. Hair to the shoulders and they like it. A lot less tangles! Anne is almost ready to walk, but definitely not afraid of getting off of Mom and Dad's big bed in the morning by herself. We got a huge amount of snow on Saturday and Church was canceled on Sunday. The girls love to see their grandparents via Skype and we like to hear how everyone is doing. Joe still loves his job and it was renewed for a year. I'm trying to balance motherhood, the girls are playing, ever playing and we love this Christmas season!!For Church this Sunday, Joe is playing and I am singing. It is to the tune of Silent Night, but I compiled new words. So in honor of Christ's birth, here is what I wrote:
Humble delight, that peaceful night. Story old, 'gain retold.
Babe of mercy from heaven above, Sweet the strains of redeeming love.
Wondrous gift to meek souls, Came the day foretold
O holy night, stars a light, Glittering, Blessing Flowed.
Come all faithful on bended knee, With your heart contrite, broken can be.
Feel the love of thy Savior, O blessed Christmas day!
Bells still chime, the angels sublime, praising songs, shepherds throngs
With our minds and our hearts in reply, Bursting glories heard from on high
Glo-ria, Ha-lle-lu-jah!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New year!

So fun to read your posts!! I love to hear about what your family is doing and how you are!!
I think you have the idea all wrong, see I believe it was Joe, late at night he went in the girls room and would nibble on the candy canes and then stash them in the crib and the girls merely found then the next day. Clever one Joe....(just kidding) :)
We almost put Candy Canes on the tree this year then I thought about our sugar snatchers last year and I was not up for the challenge this year!! :) Too funny!! Have a Great day!
I so relate to the Candy Cane dilemma, but ours is a ginger bread house whose decorations are dwindling. So glad you guys could come and visit. Hope you're staying warm with all that snow!
You guys are SO cute and I LOVE the words you wrote to "Oh Holy Night." Wish I was there to hear it!
