Inside Out

A new friend taught me the basics of quilting. Here are the girls' I made for Christmas.

This is Xela's.

I learned the basic square. I added detail to the edges. X's for the binding. Here is Charlotte's. I got a little inventive working with squares and rectangles. The colors are real vibrant and are not really seen in the picture. I tried stitch in the ditch binding. The middle is a rose I constructed (took a long time cuz I was winging it). I called this quilt the "Rose Experience" because I learned a lot from making my own mistakes. I was worth it for that fact. And we all love it!And here is Anne's. I decided to try what triangles were like. Not finished yet.
I love adding the detail for each one!

My brain functions from the inside out, beginning with the middle square. That makes things take longer and I can't plan for pre-cut squares, yet it does make it very unique as far as I don't know what it will look like by the end.

A big thank you to Kathy who taught me the basics with Xela's and little tips and tricks for the others. For sewing with me and finishing the edges, oh and for sharing her scraps and so many other things!!

I think I'm going to take a break for a while and play with the kids and do a few other adventurous projects!

WOW!!! I love the green and purple one. Those are my two favorite colors. I started a quilt for Audrey a couple months ago and have yet to finish it. It's a fun hobby. Your quilts are so pretty and unique.
